Russia continues to attack Ukraine - but Turkey's Foreign Minister Fidan is still optimistic that negotiations can continue. Kiev, on the other hand, is much less confident.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan arrived on a visit to Kyiv.

"Turkey is an ideal player" in the negotiations, the Turkish Foreign Minister emphasized, recalling that Moscow's proposal for a new meeting was formulated immediately after his visit.

Russia is open to continuing talks with Ukraine on a ceasefire. However, the government in Kyiv wants to see proposals from Moscow first. The Kremlin calls this "not constructive".
