EastEnders star shuts down rumours of return after 20 years labelling it 'fake news'
Kacey Ainsworth said fan hopes for a Little Mo comeback are fake news, ending speculation that the Slater family would reunite at the funeral.
Former EastEnders star Kacey Ainsworth has shut down speculation regarding a return to the BBC soap, labelling the rumors "fake news" on Instagram and clarifying she has not discussed a comeback with producers.
Speculation emerged after news that Zoe, played by Michelle Ryan, is set to be killed off, prompting fans to hope the character's funeral would reunite the beloved Slater family on screen.
Ainsworth played Little Mo from 2000 to 2006, earning a National Television Award for Most Popular Actress and two British Soap Awards for Best Actress, cementing her legacy as a beloved character.
Fellow cast members expressed disappointment, with Lauren Branning actress Jacqueline Osborne writing that she would "give anything for this to be true," while fans shared similar sentiments online.
While Ainsworth won't return, EastEnders is introducing new cast members, including actor Christopher Colquhoun as Darnell Larson, the newly discovered half-brother of Denise Fox.
