Motorists traveling east on Interstate 40 near Kingman can expect lane restrictions through the end of the year as crews continue work on an 8-mile pavement preservation project.

Mebane’s city council has agreed to spend about $37,000 to put up two “end cap” signs with the city’s logo on the new Trollingwood-Hawfields bridge over I-85/40. When approaching Mebane from the east, this sign greets drivers near the Buckhorn Road exit, but the city has been unable to find a similar lot available on the western side of the city.
