Two earthquakes were measured in Bárðarbunga around 8:00 PM this evening, measuring 2.6 and 4.8. Earthquakes of this magnitude are seen quite regularly in Bárðarbunga, according to the Icelandic Meteorological Office. The first earthquake was measured at 8:10 PM and the second at 8:14 PM.
An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 was measured in Bárðarbunga at 20:14 this evening. Another earthquake of magnitude 2.6 was shortly before, or at 20:10. Both earthquakes are located in the northern caldera of Bárðarbunga at a depth of about 2-4 km. About 20 aftershocks have been measured.
