A great tit egg dating from March 21 has been found in a nest box near Nijmegen. On March 21, the first great tit egg of the year was laid in Oosterhout near Nijmegen. Never before has the first egg been found so early in the more than 70 years that the Netherlands Institute for Ecology has been conducting research into great tit populations. The institute reports.
