Eagles Rule Out DeVonta Smith vs the Rams with a Hamstring Injury
The Eagles will lean on Dontayvion Wicks and other receivers after Smith, who has 19 catches for 235 yards, was ruled out.
On Friday, the Philadelphia Eagles ruled out wide receiver DeVonta Smith for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams due to a lingering right hamstring injury.
Linebacker Zack Baun and safety Marcus Epps were also ruled out, alongside Hollywood Brown, Dallas Goedert, and Fred Johnson, leaving quarterback Jalen Hurts without two top pass catchers.
No. 2 receiver Dontayvion Wicks is expected to assume an increased role, stating, "Being me, the player I am, I already have that confidence," while Jeremiah Trotter Jr. will replace Baun.
Philadelphia coach Nick Sirianni expressed confidence in team depth on Friday, noting the game plan remains largely unchanged despite the absences.
The Eagles' offense must redistribute Smith's 32.9% target share as Vic Fangio's defense aims to improve after a slow start through three games.
