The Dutch Cabinet has scrapped controversial plans to allow a fourth approach route for aircraft flying in to Schiphol Airport.

There will be no new approach route over the province of Utrecht to Schiphol. Minister Barry Madlener has just announced this. There were plans to have aircraft from the southeast fly a shorter route to Schiphol. This so-called fourth approach route would then go over a large part of Utrecht. But it appears not to be possible to connect the flight route to international air traffic.
