Dutch forward Justin Kluivert returns from knee surgery for Bournemouth ahead of World Cup
Justin Kluivert is set to return after a four-month absence, and manager Andoni Iraola said he could boost his World Cup hopes.
On Friday, Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola confirmed Dutch forward Justin Kluivert is back in the squad for the Premier League match at Fulham.
The 27-year-old forward missed four months following knee surgery after sustaining an injury in a 3-2 loss to Arsenal on Jan. 3.
After training with the team for two weeks, Kluivert joins The Cherries, who hold the Europa League spot in sixth place with three games left.
This return boosts the forward's chances of playing in the FIFA World Cup, where the Netherlands face Japan, Sweden, and Tunisia in their Group.
Coach Ronald Koeman recalled the forward in November 2024 after a six-year absence, marking a milestone for the son of Netherlands player Patrick Kluivert.
Justin Kluivert makes his return to Bournemouth's match squad against Fulham on Saturday after five months out with injury. The midfielder appears to be fit just in time for a spot in national coach Ronald Koeman's World Cup squad.
