Ducks Beat the Winless Flames 4-2 in Calgary to Start a Home-and-Home Series
The Flames have been outscored 27-8 in five games, according to team statistics, marking the worst start in the franchise's history.
On Saturday, the visiting Anaheim Ducks defeated the winless Calgary Flames 4-2, marking their third consecutive road victory to start the season.
The loss leaves the Flames at 0-5-0, the worst start in franchise history, having been outscored 27-8 over their first five games.
Anaheim Ducks centre Ryan Poehling broke a third-period tie with a short-handed goal, while Flames player Aydar Suniev, 20, scored his first NHL goal in the second period.
The victory proved costly for the Ducks; Poehling left the game after colliding with Flames goalie Dustin Wolf, joining teammate Cutter Gauthier on the injury list.
Both clubs meet again Tuesday night in Anaheim, as the Flames continue their search for their first point of the season.
