On August 9, 99 prefectures, i.e. the entire French metropolitan territory, were at least at the alert level.
Almost 70% of France's territory is concerned with water restriction measures because of a drought that has worsened as a result of repeated heat waves that have struck this country in the last three months, the Paris government announced on Monday. A crisis meeting will take place on Wednesday.
