Operation Deep Manifest: DRI seizes 362 metric tonnes Pakistan-origin dry dates in Nashik
Preliminary investigation revealed a trans-shipment arrangement designed to conceal the Pakistan origin of the goods. The dry dates were initially shipped from Karachi Port, Pakistan, to Jebel Ali Port, UAE, in one set of containers aboard one vessel, the statement said.
The Indian government has imposed a complete ban on imports from Pakistan. Despite this, goods were still being brought into India from Pakistan. Under Operation Deep Manifest, the DRI seized 13 containers of Pakistani origin, containing over 362 metric tons of dates. These containers were being brought to India via the UAE.
