Dream start semifinals against the Liberty
Atlanta’s defense and veteran addition DeWanna Bonner give the Dream a 2-1 regular-season edge over New York entering the best-of-five series.
The Atlanta Dream and New York Liberty begin their best-of-five WNBA playoff semifinal series on Sunday at State Farm Arena in Georgia, marking Atlanta's first semifinal appearance since 2018.
Atlanta advanced by sweeping the Washington Mystics in the first round, while New York became the first No. 8 seed in the league's 30-year history to reach the semifinals after sweeping the Minnesota Lynx.
The Dream, anchored by WNBA Defensive Player of the Year Angel Reese, led the league with 9.9 steals per game. Breanna Stewart brings significant playoff experience to the Liberty.
Atlanta will host the first two games at State Farm Arena, which seats more than 17,000 fans, a significant upgrade from the Dream's usual 3,500-seat Gateway Center Arena.
The winner advances to the 2026 WNBA Finals to face either the defending champion Las Vegas Aces or the Golden State Valkyries in pursuit of a championship title.
