All schools in Wales will have to provide 10% of their lessons through the medium of Welsh by 2030, and it is hoped that 50% of pupils in Wales will attend Welsh-medium schools by 2050. That is what Welsh Language Secretary Mark Drakeford announced yesterday (October 21), as he outlined the plan to implement the Welsh Language and Education Act and discuss offering a "fair chance" for every child in Wales to learn the language.
