Dragons' Den 'Legend' to Leave Panel After 10 Years as Fans Say He'll Be 'Missed'
Touker Suleyman said he will step back to mentor entrepreneurs and make room for new blood on the BBC series.
On Saturday, retail entrepreneur Touker Suleyman announced his departure from BBC's Dragons' Den after 10 years, stating it is time for "new blood" to join the panel.
The 72-year-old businessman, who owns Hawes & Curtis and Ghost, joined the program in 2015. Suleyman explained that after "reflecting on what matters most," he decided to step down.
By the time his final episodes air later this year, Suleyman will have spent 12 series on the show. He plans to "give back the 50 years of business experience" he has accumulated.
Colleagues Peter Jones and Sara Davies praised the investor, with Jones stating, "Your contribution to Dragons' Den and the many lives you have changed for the better is special."
While Jones, Deborah Meaden, and Steven Bartlett remain on the long-running BBC series, broadcasters have yet to reveal whether Suleyman will be replaced.
