Pope Francis began his 40th overseas trip on Tuesday morning. The targets of the six-day visit are the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan. The plane carrying the pope has departed from Rome's Fiumicino Airport. In the afternoon, Francis will arrive in the capital of the first of the states - Kinshasa. In both states, Catholics make up about half of the population.
