- On July 22, 2025, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe, Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Ontario's cottage country, coordinating infrastructure to transport oil, gas and critical minerals.
- In the face of looming U.S. duties, President Donald Trump threatened 35 per cent tariffs on Canadian goods on Aug. 1, prompting Ford to call for a resilient economy, and Saskatchewan to join Canada's trade pact.
