However, the Orbán government's promise to exempt mothers with two children over the age of 40 from social security taxes will not be implemented.
Péter Magyar made another very important announcement in parliament, including changes affecting the taxation of the minimum wage and family allowance.
A single-digit tax rate will be imposed on the minimum wage, but mothers' tax exemption will be terminated for incomes above 1 million forints per month. In addition, family allowances will be doubled.
From 2027, the Tisza government will double the family allowance. The increase could affect more than one million families and about 1.7 million children.
Doubling the family allowance is also included in the 2027 budget plans, which were presented by Péter Magyar in Parliament. For a family raising one child, this would mean 24,400 forints per month, for two children it would be 53,200 in total, and for three children it would be 96,000 forints per month.
According to one of Tisza's most important campaign promises, the increase would have come this year, which will ultimately be fulfilled in 2027.
