Double Homicide Being Investigated at Great Wolf Lodge in Pennsylvania, Coroner Says
Police say the woman was suicidal and called 911 before officers found her husband and 3-year-old son dead in a resort room.
Police arrested Metallica Rose Harrison on Monday at the Great Wolf Lodge in Scotrun, Pennsylvania, after officers discovered her husband Charles Harrison and their three-year-old son dead inside a guest room; she faces two counts of criminal homicide.
Authorities responded to the resort around 3:15 p.m. Monday after Harrison called the Monroe County Control Center stating she 'needed help dying and she was unable to find the vein in her neck to stab,' according to a criminal complaint.
Inside room 2030, officers found Charles Harrison dead on a mattress and the couple's three-year-old son dead on the floor; police recovered two knives with teal green handles from the bathroom, according to a criminal complaint.
Jason Lasecki, Vice President of Corporate Communications for Great Wolf Resorts, stated the incident was an 'isolated family matter,' confirming resort operations continue as law enforcement determined there is no ongoing security threat.
Harrison remains in custody following her transfer to a hospital in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, awaiting arraignment; for those in crisis, the National Suicide Prevention Hotline is 988 and the National Domestic Violence Hotline is 1-800-799-7233.
