The 4.8, 4.9 and 5.2 magnitude earthquakes that occurred one after another in Adana brought to the fore the fact of February 6 in the city again. Thousands of buildings were heavily damaged in Adana, where 418 people died in the 2023 earthquakes. In particular, some neighborhoods in Çukurova were the hardest hit by the destruction, while experts today pointed out the alluvial floors in the southern part of the city and the surrounding faults.

Professor Dr. Hasan Sözbilir, Director of the Earthquake Research and Application Center at Dokuz Eylül University, evaluated the consecutive earthquakes that occurred in Adana and Osmaniye. Sözbilir pointed out that there is an accumulation of energy in the Savrun and Saimbeyli faults and issued a warning about an earthquake storm.

Adana Governor Mustafa Yavuz announced that there were no casualties or property damage in the 4.8 and 4.9 magnitude earthquakes that occurred consecutively in Saimbeyli. Yavuz stated that AFAD, gendarmerie, police, and 112 emergency teams were monitoring the area in a coordinated manner.
