DoorDash partners with Macy’s, Anthropologie and others to expand clothing delivery
Drivers will deliver items in as little as an hour, and returns will cost a flat $7.99 as DoorDash broadens retail services.
On Wednesday, DoorDash announced partnerships with Macy, Anthropologie, The North Face, Vans, and Timberland, formalizing retail delivery and allowing customers to order clothing through the app for delivery in as little as an hour.
The San Francisco company is moving into retail and clothing delivery to attract more customers. Originally founded as a restaurant delivery service in 2013, DoorDash added grocery delivery in 2020.
DoorDash drivers will pick up and return items purchased through the app for a flat fee of $7.99. The company has been testing this return service in select markets and plans nationwide rollout in November.
These new agreements follow recent partnerships with Gap, Costco, Barnes and Noble, and Kohl. DoorDash also announced a Foot Locker partnership in July and expanded Costco deliveries nationwide in September.
Rival Uber Eats has also been adding retail deliveries, signaling that both companies are expanding beyond food delivery roots to capture larger market share. This retail expansion positions DoorDash competitively in the growing delivery ecosystem.
