It has been reported that the Ministry of Treasury and Finance is preparing to reduce the Special Consumption Tax on diesel fuel as part of its measures to combat inflation, and that the relevant decision is expected to be published in the Official Gazette and enter into force.
The Minister of Finance and Economy, Andrzej Domański, assessed that the situation on the crude oil market is gradually stabilizing, but there has been no decision yet to reinstate the "Lower Fuel Prices" (CPN) program.
The Ministry of Treasury and Finance has begun preparations for a new step to contribute to the disinflation process. A reduction in the Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) on diesel fuel is planned. The new ÖTV regulation is expected to be published in the Official Gazette tonight.
Can Poles expect a reduction in fuel prices? "The decision on the possible return of CPN will be made within a few days, i.e. this week," said Energy Minister Miłosz Motyka.
