Dolphins Rookie WR Caleb Douglas Set to Return vs. the Jets After Missing 3 Games with Ankle Injury
Caleb Douglas returns after missing three games, and Miami’s passing offense ranks 31st in the league, coach Jeff Hafley said.
On Friday, Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley confirmed rookie receiver Caleb Douglas will play Sunday against the New York Jets, ending his three-game absence with a sprained ankle.
Douglas suffered the sprained ankle in the Sept. 20 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, sidelining the receiver since Week 2 of the season.
Before his injury, Douglas caught seven passes for 113 yards in the first two games, and his return aims to boost Miami's passing offense averaging just 153.6 yards per game.
Running back Jaylen Wright will play Sunday, though Jets coach Aaron Glenn listed running back Breece Hall as questionable for the matchup.
Sunday's matchup features a familial rivalry as Dolphins offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik will face his brother, Ryan Slowik, the Jets safeties coach.
