How Bristol Motor Speedway Is Honoring Dolly Parton During NASCAR Race Weekend
Bristol will display a pink butterfly tribute across the track and Fan Zone, with a race-ready decal available to all three NASCAR national series.
On September 17-19, Bristol Motor Speedway will honor country music legend Dolly Parton throughout the Bass Pro Shops Night Race weekend, featuring her signature pink butterfly logo at "The World's Fastest Half-Mile."
Speedway officials partnered with the Dollywood Foundation to create the tribute following the singer's August 25 death, with the track located about 100 miles from Parton's hometown of Sevierville, Tennessee.
Decals displaying the tribute mark have been distributed to teams across all three NASCAR national series, while a 15-foot-by-7-foot banner in the BMS Fan Zone invites fans to write personal messages.
Entertainment highlights include Academy Award-winning actor Brad Pitt serving as grand marshal and two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Josef Newgarden driving as the honorary pace car.
Saturday night's 500-lap NASCAR Cup Series playoff showdown concludes the weekend, which also features a Lap 18 tribute honoring the late driver Kyle Busch.
