Crisis deepens at Ajax after 2-1 home defeat against Excelsior
Ajax’s situation has not improved following John Heitinga’s departure. Under interim manager Fred Grim, the team suffered another setback, this time a 2–1 home defeat to Excelsior in the Johan Cruyff ArenA, coming only two weeks after the loss at FC Utrecht. Excelsior’s Noah Naujoks netted both goals, giving the club its first-ever away victory over the once-dominant side from Amsterdam.
Dolberg scored his first goal since returning to Ajax. The striker scored just a few minutes later, putting Ajax 1-2 down.
