BC Conservatives Address Healthcare, Taxes During Kelowna Rally
Doerkson said a Conservative government would create a $50 million fund to keep emergency rooms open and add security for nursing staff.
On Monday, Oct. 19, Lorne Doerkson rallied BC Conservatives and around 100 supporters at Sunset Ranch Golf Course in Kelowna, laying out his party's campaign platform.
Doerkson vowed to oppose the PST expansion, claiming the NDPs would implement it if elected despite David Eby pausing the plan.
Pledging a $50-million fund for emergency rooms, Doerkson promised increased security for nursing staff. Kelowna-Mission candidate Gavin Dew noted Maxine DeHart waited 50 minutes for an ambulance under Eby's healthcare system.
To support small businesses, Doerkson plans to increase availability of British Columbia products on retail shelves, citing challenges the craft beer industry faced since President Donald Trump imposed aluminum tariffs.
Emphasizing law and order, Doerkson stated his party will not accept repetitive vandalism or physical offenses. He reiterated commitment to zero tax increases, pledging taxes will not rise while he serves as premier.
