Andy Pages (3 HRs, 6 RBIs) Powers Dodgers in Rout of Astros
Andy Pages drove in six runs and Shohei Ohtani ended an 0-for-18 skid as the Dodgers backed six relievers in a 12-2 win.
On Wednesday, Andy Pages recorded career highs with three homers and six RBIs, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 12-2 victory over the Houston Astros. Shohei Ohtani contributed two hits, ending his 0-for-18 slump.
A five-run third inning featuring Pages' three-run homer off Houston pitcher Lance McCullers broke the game open. McCullers allowed six runs and four hits in 2 2/3 innings, setting the stage for the rout.
Due to low back pain, starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow exited after the first inning, though Jack Dreyer and five other relievers held Houston to one run. Glasnow allowed a leadoff home run to Brice Matthews before departing.
Pages added a two-run shot in the fifth off Jason Alexander and his third homer in the ninth off Salazar. The solo blast capped the Dodgers' dominant 12-2 win over Houston.
The Braves host the Dodgers on Friday night after both teams enjoy an off day Thursday. The Houston Astros open a series in Cincinnati that same night.
