DNR: Some waterways in western Iowa have dangerously low water levels

Summary by Ground News
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says anyone planning to boat in the western part of the state this holiday weekend needs to be aware of the low water levels. Parts of three counties in that part of Iowa are considered to be in a severe drought. The DNR says Carter Lake in Pottawattamie County is currently 3 feet below normal. Other waterways like Blue Lake, DeSoto Bend, Snyder Bend and Browns Lake are also dealing with lower than normal water levels in that area.
