The 122-foot replica was a photo landmark since 2001, and Disney says a new family experience will open later this summer.
- On Tuesday, Disney Parks announced the return of Mickey Mouse's Sorcerer Hat to Hollywood Studios, featuring a reimagined, scaled-down version inspired by the 1940 film "Fantasia" at the building for "The Magic of Disney Animation".
- Disney officials removed the original 122-foot Sorcerer Hat in 2015, ending its nearly 15-year tenure as a popular photo spot in front of the Chinese Theater.
- The installation coincides with Disney transforming Animation Courtyard into Walt Disney Studios Courtyard, designed to resemble Burbank Studios in California and opening to guests on May 26.
- Disney revealed the courtyard will feature an animatronic Olaf, an "Alice in Wonderland"-inspired play area, and a theater showing the "Once Upon A Studio" short film.
- Additional attractions include character meet-and-greet spaces featuring Hercules, Pegasus, Mufasa, Simba, Cinderella, and Stitch, though an opening date for "The Magic of Disney Animation" remains unreleased.
