Disgraced The Thick of It Star Chris Langham's Death Confirmed Aged 77

British actor Chris Langham died at 77 from pancreatic cancer, it was revealed today. Langham was best known for his role in The Thick before his career ended following a 2006 conviction for child sex offences.
Before his conviction, Langham enjoyed a successful career writing for The Muppet Show and performing in Not The Nine O'Clock News. He also starred in the BBC sitcom Thick as government minister Hugh Abbott.
Langham was sentenced to ten months in jail, later reduced to six, after police rejected his claim that he downloaded child abuse images for research. He maintained his actions were for a "peeping tom" character.
Though the actor died almost three months ago, news of his passing only surfaced recently via an obituary in The Times. He is survived by his second wife, Chrissie, and their two children, Emily and James, plus three children from his first marriage.
In 2015, Langham told The Independent, "I have completely f***ed up my own life. I'm not blaming it on anything or anybody." He later conceded his actions destroyed his life, though he had pleaded not guilty at trial.
