In France, the Agence nationale de sécurité du médication (ANSM) et des produits de santé announces this Thursday, September 10, that it will contact more than 1.5 million women taking a contraceptive pill based on deogestrel. They will be informed, by mail, of a low but increased risk of developing meningioma.
The ANSM Department advises affected patients to seek medical advice in case of suspected symptoms, such as persistent headaches, visual disturbances or memory gaps.
