Discord Back Online After Thousands Reported Issues with the App
Discord engineers identified and fixed a server issue causing voice call failures affecting over 20,000 users, with most reports linked to voice connectivity problems.
- On Wednesday, March 25, Discord experienced widespread voice connectivity failures, with Downdetector recording more than 22,000 reports shortly after 3:19 p.m. Eastern time.
- Many users encountered the persistent "Awaiting Endpoint" error, which occurs when the app cannot reach the voice server assigned to a call, preventing connections during server-side failures.
- According to Downdetector, more than three-quarters of complaints involved voice calls, while 18 percent cited the app and 4 percent reported login difficulties.
- A Discord spokesperson told Newsweek around 6:30 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday that engineers identified and mitigated the cause, stating "users should now be able to connect."
- Discord continues investigating voice connectivity impacts and working to accelerate recovery, though the platform warned that temporary impacts to other features might persist.
