As of 1 October, it will be easier for households and companies that produce surplus electricity with photovoltaic systems to share it with others. According to the coordination office for energy communities, peer-to-peer contracts make it legally possible for several actors to join forces to use their own electricity together.
With peer-to-peer contracts, owners of photovoltaic systems will be able to share or sell their surplus electricity more easily in the future.
From 1 October, peer-to-peer contracts will be possible. From next year, electricity will be divided throughout Austria.
