JPJ Nets RM91.2m From ‘H’ Series Plates, Confirms RM10.7m Winning Bid for ‘H 1’

- On Monday, Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced the Road Transport Department raised RM91.2 million from the 'H' series license plate bidding held Sept 16–20, with the H1 plate fetching a record RM10.77 million.
- Launched to commemorate the Sept 16 Malaysia Day, the special series attracted 34,664 participants, with 8,223 registration numbers successfully auctioned, marking the final single-letter prefix issued by JPJ.
- Following H1, other high-value plates included H9 at RM4.97 million and H3 at RM4.21 million, while H 1001 and H 100 each drew 37 bidders, the most participation of any number.
- Proceeds will be returned to the people through Transport Ministry and JPJ programmes, Loke said, funding road safety initiatives and community welfare that directly benefit the public.
- In a sardonic Facebook post on Sept 21, Loke quipped that proceeds were not intended to help anyone "return home," a swipe at the Pardons Board decision granting former Prime Minister Najib Razak conditional house arrest.

JPJ collects RM91.21mil from 'H' series number plate bids
PUTRAJAYA: The "H" series Special Registration Number (NPI) recorded a total collection of RM91.21mil through bids conducted by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) in conjunction with the 2026 Malaysia Day celebration.
