Browns Rookie Receiver Denzel Boston Is Making a Major Impact to Fuel Cleveland's 3-1 Start
The rookie wide receiver has 284 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and he leads NFL first-year players in every major receiving category.
Through four games, Cleveland Browns rookie wide receiver Denzel Boston leads all NFL rookies with 284 receiving yards, emerging as a strong contender for Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Browns coach Todd Monken praised Boston's maturity, noting that drafting players "wired" to play effectively early in their careers allows them to succeed immediately; Boston uses his 6-foot-4, 215-pound frame to muscle into open space.
Tied for second among rookies with 17 catches, Boston recently caught a 60-yard touchdown pass in last week's 27-24 win against Pittsburgh, providing quarterback Deshaun Watson and teammate KC Concepcion Jr. with reliable playmakers.
After Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf told Boston, "I'm a big fan of your game," the rookie remained focused on team goals, stating, "Our main thing here is to win football games as a team, not individual accomplishments."
With the Browns at 3-1, Boston plans to block out social media noise and sustain his early production, as his work ethic has impressed teammates and helped the team contend after a rocky start.
