Hearing officer Derrick Brooks reduces Alaric Jackson's suspension to one game
Jackson will miss Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals after Derrick Brooks reduced his suspension, saving him nearly $2 million, the team said.
On Wednesday, hearing officer Derrick Brooks reduced Los Angeles Rams offensive tackle Alaric Jackson's suspension from two games to one after Jackson appealed the penalty for striking Buffalo Bills linebacker Bradley Chubb following Monday's 37-34 overtime loss.
Following the Bills' victory, Jackson punched Chubb on the field; Jackson claims the linebacker used "sexually degrading" language about his mother, prompting the physical response.
Chubb admitted initiating the conversation with Jackson but told reporters, "Somebody swung, but hey, that's not on me to tell who," declining to clarify the physical exchange.
Jackson will sit out Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals, with David Quessenberry starting in his place; he is eligible to return October 25 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Previously, Jackson served a two-game suspension in 2024 for personal conduct policy violations; the original two-game ban would have cost him nearly $2 million in potential losses.
