Denim on the Diamond Returns to Kelowna This Weekend
The three-day festival is expected to draw at least 12,000 visitors and generate $4 million to $5 million in regional economic impact, organizers said.
Denim on the Diamond returns to Kelowna City Park this weekend, Sept. 11-13, with organizers anticipating at least 12,000 visitors and a projected economic impact between $4 million and $5 million.
Thick as Thieves Entertainment grew from a small 2016 gathering at the Laurel Packinghouse into a year-round economic driver, now managing events like AltiTunes Apres Ski Music Fest and The Garden Party.
More than 200 people will be paid for this weekend's production, including staff, crew, and vendors. Marketing Director Jules Quesnel joined four years ago, citing the team's genuine community commitment as her motivation.
Beyond music, the organization has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local causes including the YMCA, Mamas, Central Okanagan Food Bank, Kelowna General Hospital, and Spring Valley Care Centre.
Headliners Ian Asher, Nate Smith, and Portugal will perform across the three-day festival, while the company's portfolio continues to include Rose Disco Kelowna and Canadian Country Music Association Live at Waterfront Park.
