The terrorist organization PKK launched its first mass disarmament process in 41 years today. The ceremony is being held in the historically significant Casene Cave in the rural area of Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. The cave, which sheltered Sheikh Mahmud Hafid while fleeing British bombardment in 1923 and where one of the first Kurdish newspapers was published, has now become the organization's "politically symbolic" surrender point.
