Fuel Supplier: Marine Waiting for Delivery

The Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, which was rescued by the federal government and the state of Lower Saxony, is considering expanding its defense business.

The first of two new naval anchors should have been ready long ago. However, the delivery of the ships that the Lürssen Group is building with the support of the Meyer shipyard is significantly delayed.

The German navy has to wait longer than planned for new tankers. As the "Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung" reports, the completion of the approximately 900 million Euro expensive so-called marine operating material suppliers is significantly delayed. A spokesman of the Bundeswehr confirmed the "NOZ": "The delivery of the first unit is currently planned for the end of 2026", the second ship is to follow in the course of 2027.

In fact, the first of two new naval anchors should have been on the world's oceans long ago. However, the delivery of the more than 900 hundred million Euro expensive ships, which "Naval Vessels Lürssen" together with the support of Meyer Werft from Papenburg, is significantly delayed.
