The previous age to be eligible for this scheme was 62 years. Many categories of persons are affected.
The decree reducing the right to gradual retirement to 60 years, compared with 62 years currently, was published in the Official Gazette on Wednesday, with an entry into force on 1 September 2025.
The measure, which was the result of a series of agreements signed in the autumn of 2024 between the Medef, the CFDT and the CFTC, is intended to enable employees to benefit from a fraction of their retirement while pursuing an activity, and will be applied on 1 September.
