During his detention, Jacques-Élie Favrot, the parliamentary assistant to MP LFI Raphaël Arnault, admitted that he had incited the antifas to violently attack Quentin Deranque during the attack which cost him his life in Lyon. In total, seven suspects were arrested in Lyon.

Following the gathering on Saturday, February 21st in tribute to the far-right activist, the Rhône prefecture has referred the matter to the courts regarding Nazi salutes as well as racist and homophobic insults observed during the demonstration.
