On Saturday, the Dallas Wings defeated the Phoenix Mercury 87-82, securing their sixth consecutive victory. Paige Bueckers scored 26 points while Arike Ogunbowale added 22 points and six assists.
Dallas established a 56-49 halftime lead after Bueckers banked in a 3-pointer with 0.5 seconds remaining in the first half. She scored 20 points during the opening half to set the foundation.
With this victory, the Wings improved to 26-16, passing New York and Washington for sixth place in the WNBA standings. Awak Kuier added 11 points and Jessica Shepard contributed 10 points and six rebounds.
Late in the game, Aziaha James made a key steal as Ogunbowale completed a three-point play to extend Dallas's lead to 86-81. Phoenix stayed competitive behind Lexi Held's 21 points and Natasha Mack's 16 points.
Despite the loss, Phoenix's Alyssa Thomas recorded her fourth triple-double of the season with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. The teams play each other again on Monday in Phoenix.
