CureGene Pharmaceutical dosed the first participant in the U.S. pivotal clinical trial of Evategrel , a new best-in-class antiplatelet drug.
This trial is a key step toward submitting a New Drug Application in the U.S. and aims to help millions of patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases globally.
Evategrel is the first P2Y12 receptor inhibitor available in both intravenous and oral forms and uses a prodrug design that bypasses the CYP450 enzyme pathway.
The ongoing trial compares the efficacy and safety of Evategrel against clopidogrel in patients with acute coronary syndrome, myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke, and peripheral arterial disease.
