A Proud Jim Mora Revels in His Son’s Colorado State Debut During a 35-13 Win over Wyoming
Colorado State scored 21 straight points after halftime as Jim L. Mora’s father watched the 35-13 win and praised his son’s coaching debut.
On Saturday, Jim L. Mora led the Rams to a 35-13 victory over Wyoming in his debut as head coach, marking the team's first appearance as members of the Pac-12.
The 91-year-old Jim Mora watched his son's coaching debut from the sidelines; between them, the pair has served as head coaches for north of 500 games across college and professional levels.
Wyoming turned a 14-3 deficit into a 14-13 nail-biter in the third quarter. "I was worried," the elder Mora said, "I didn't think they were playing as good."
After Colorado State secured the win, the younger Mora celebrated with family. "I've been doing this since the day that my mom gave birth to me," the 64-year-old son cracked.
Intending to remain involved in his son's career, the elder Mora—a former NFL head coach with Indianapolis and New Orleans—believes his son will find success in the foothills of Fort Collins.
