Couple charged after missing teen found in cardboard box
Police said officers found the girl in a cardboard box and recovered photos on the couple’s phones showing sexual acts.
A married Minnesota couple, 46-year-old Angeline Olson and 48-year-old Andrew Olson of Oakdale, has been charged with sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl reported missing from school on May 26; police found her alive in a cardboard box in their bedroom Thursday.
The investigation began after the girl's father told police she might be at the Oakdale home of her friend, whose parents are the Olsons; when officers initially visited, Angeline Olson denied the girl was there.
On May 27, a neighbor called 911 after witnessing the girl run from the apartment partially clothed and seeing Angeline Olson emerge nearly naked. Search warrants allegedly revealed sexually explicit photos and videos involving the teenager on Andrew Olson's phone.
Court documents filed last week in Washington County charge Angeline Olson with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, facing up to 30 years in prison, while Andrew Olson faces three counts of possessing child sexual abuse material with up to 18 years possible; both are detained in the Washington County Jail.
The couple's own teenage children were removed by Child Protective Services earlier this year, yet the girl continued visiting the home. Neighbor Teaira reflected, "You don't even know who you live next to anymore," highlighting community concerns about undetected patterns.
