The Stoughton City Council unanimously approved a 2026 budget of $13,951,709 at its Tuesday, Nov. 11 meeting. The total levy increased $1,778,539 or 14.6 percent from last year, and the mill rate increased from $6.92 to $7.36 per $1,000 of assessed value, a 6.3 percent increase. Taxes on a $350,000 home will increase from $2,423.27 to $2,576.01, an increase of $152.74.
