Coronation Street Legend Confirmed to Be Returning to ITV Show After 23 Years Away
Jake Parry announced the comeback on TikTok, and the new character Damo will first appear in a scuffle scene next week.
On Tuesday, May 26, actor Jake Parry will debut on the ITV soap Coronation Street in a new role named Damo, marking his return 23 years after first appearing as a child.
Parry originally portrayed Simon Barlow in 2003 alongside his twin brother Oscar; the character has since become long-running on the soap, most recently played by actor Alex Bain.
Since his childhood role, Parry has built a varied acting portfolio including parts in the BBC Three drama Red Rose and commercial roles for Microsoft and Taco Bell.
While returning to the Weatherfield set, Parry clarified on TikTok that he plays a different character, Damo, described in spoilers as a 'young man' rather than his former role.
Parry called working on the project a 'privilege and honour' alongside crew members from major franchises including BARBIE, HARRY POTTER, STAR WARS, and SPIDER-MAN.
