Coronation Street Star Dies as Heartfelt Tribute Issued
Lynne Verrall, known for Coronation Street and other TV roles, died after a motor neurone disease diagnosis following her final film in 2023, with a fundraiser established in her honor.
- In Paris, actress Lynne Verrall died aged 76 on November 8 after a long illness, her agent Samantha Boyd confirmed.
- After finishing filming she was diagnosed with motor neurone disease, an uncommon progressive condition affecting the brain and motor neurones that impairs movement, swallowing and breathing.
- Best known for playing Geraldine Spellman on Coronation Street in 2017, Verrall also appeared in Doctors, Father Brown, Innocent, and relocated to Paris in 2012 before starring in Greek Salad by Cédric Klapisch.
- Friends and colleagues have launched fundraising pages including a GoFundMe in her memory and a French fundraising page urging donations to ARSLA, recalling her gift in her will and courage in Paris.
