Over the past three months, consumer sentiment has remained almost unchanged, according to surveys from the University of Michigan. The July figure was only 1.8 index points lower than in June, which is a statistically insignificant difference. The index was improved to 66.4 points from the previous 66.0 points, a decrease from 68.2 points the previous month and also the lowest value for eight months, reads the university's website.
