The INDEC reported that poverty reached 32.3% of the population during the first half of 2026. However, an estimate by the consulting firm Equilibra, which uses more recent consumption patterns and makes adjustments on the revenues reported, places the indicator at 44.9%. The difference also substantially modifies the comparison with the levels recorded in 2023 and 2024.
Private calculations showed the differences in the measurement if the consumption patterns of 2017/2018 were used and the improvement in the collection of EPH revenues since 2024 was contemplated.
