On Thursday, the Prime Minister presented his final attempt to save the negotiations on pensions, giving the social partners an extra time to reach an agreement. Threatened by a motion of socialist censure, he should nevertheless continue until the autumn thanks to the reluctance of the National Rally to bring him down immediately.
Two days after receiving trade unions and employers in Matignon after four months of unsuccessful "conclave", the Prime Minister held a press conference on Thursday. He praised "advances", although "not yet signed".
